Other important characteristics include defending the rights of other people, being compassionate for the neglected, extending common courtesies, and respecting authority. Apart from honesty, the other important characteristic of a good citizen is compassion. Compassion is the kind of emotion or feeling that people who care for and watch over other people as well as living things have. It enables citizens to see or consider the importance of other people’s needs. Respect is another important trait of good citizenship.
